PRE-CONCEPTION CARE
Pre-conception care aims to reduce existing risks before pregnancy and to improve reproductive health. This is done to better prepare for conception, during this time things like birth spacing, screening and managing chronic conditions will be discussed.


ANTENATAL CARE
Antenatal care is done so that the health of the baby and mother can be monitored, this is important because during antenatal care potential risks can be identified and prevented.
Antenatal appointments are very important, please do not miss your appointments. During these appointments, you will get a chance to ask questions.
ANTENATAL APPOINTMENTS


DELIVERIES
Natural or vaginal birth is done with little to no medical intervention. Please discuss any concerns about the preparation of birth with Dr. Setati. Caesarean section is the surgical delivery of a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus, this surgery is usually done when vaginal delivery could put the baby or the mother's life in danger.


POST-NATAL CARE
Post partum checkup can be an ongoing process other than a one-time visit after your delivery. During the appointment Dr. Setati will check your emotional well-being, he will discuss contraception and birth spacing. A physical exam will be done, this exam will include the abdomen, vagina and uterus. This is to ensure that you are healing well.
LOW & HIGH RISK PREGNANCIES
Whether you know ahead of time that you'll have a high-risk pregnancy or you simply want to do whatever you can to prevent a high-risk pregnancy, there are a few things that you can do, come to a preconception appointment, avoid harmful substances and seek regular prenatal care. Dr. Setati will advise on what to do as your journey progresses.
An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside of your body, the ultrasound is used to view the uterus. This way the doctor can see the baby and hear the heartbeat.
